Maine veterans and a most sentimental biker

In May 2015, Maine veterans joined an Honor Flight Maine trip to Washington, D.C., to visit the war memorials and monuments honoring their service. The experience was filled with camaraderie, storytelling, and emotional moments, as veterans reconnected with their past and shared their experiences with fellow servicemen. A highlight of the trip was the unexpected motorcycle escort organized by “Ralph the Biker,” a passionate and sentimental member of the BWI Brownies honor guard, who went above and beyond to make the veterans feel respected and valued. From the applause at airports to flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the trip offered these veterans a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute to their sacrifices. Honor Flight Maine continues its mission to honor veterans with similar life-changing trips.
