WHY AM I PASSIONATE ABOUT HONOR FLIGHT MAINE: My passion for Honor Flight Maine comes from the love and respect I have for my grandfather. He had a profound impact on me, not just because of his military service and commitment to honoring and supporting fellow veterans but because of the human being he was. He went on an Honor Flight in the fall of 2018 which was a turning point for him, and it left a lasting impression that I have carried forward in my own life.

By continuing to volunteer and keep veterans as a top priority, I am honoring my grandfather’s legacy in a meaningful way. I’ve made his mission my own, and I am giving back to the veterans who’ve made sacrifices for the country—just as he did. The bond I had with him, especially attending homecomings together, was a special and powerful part of our relationship. It makes sense that continuing that connection through Honor Flight feels like a natural and important way to keep his memory alive while making a real difference in the lives of others.
