WHY AM I PASSIONATE ABOUT HONOR FLIGHT MAINE: I appreciate the hard fought for freedom that I have, thanks to the veterans throughout the history of the USA. Honor Flight Maine is my thank you to the men & women who answered the call & for the sacrifices they endured.
Being from the Washington, DC vicinity, I used to see Honor Flight coverage on the evening news & thought, that was a really cool program, little did I know at the time that my adventures would lead me to be being a part of this really cool program.
FAVORITE HONOR FLIGHT MAINE MEMORIES:
  • In Sep 2023, I got to take my first Honor Flight trip. It rained and there were gale force winds. It was not a pleasant day by any means, but those men and women were real troopers and never complained. Rather, they got off the bus and visited the Memorials just like it was a warm sunny day. It was their trip, and they were going to see and take in all that they could. It was a great and memorable weekend in spite of or maybe because of the weather.
  • The flights, the events chatting with the veterans & their families, the guardians & the volunteers are all wonderful memories.
